McNair scholars are promising students who
come from at least ONE of the populations listed below that
are traditionally underrepresented in graduate school:
Low-income AND first-generation college student (i.e. neither parent has attained a bachelor's
degree)
African American
American Indian
Hispanic
Native Hawaiian or other Native Pacific
Islander
Students must also:
Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United
States
Be an undergraduate college junior or senior enrolled in
Colorado
Have a minimum cumulative
undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
The minimum GPA may be waived under special
circumstances, such as when an applicant provides evidence that
success is likely.
Be majoring in
one of the following areas of study:
○ Agricultural Sciences
○ Engineering
○ Natural Sciences
○ Veterinary Medicine
○ Biomedical Sciences
○ Experimental Psychology
